Ali Zhang, MD, L.Ac, DAOM

Specializations: Pain Management; Women health(Menstrual/ Hormonal Imbalances; Fertility Support); Mental/Emotional Imbalances;Oncology Support(cancer treatment side effects and cancer-related health issues).

I am a board-certified provider, trained in both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and I bring over 20 years of combined clinical, academic, and research experience to bear in the treatment of a variety of conditions.

While in China, I combined the modalities of Western and Chinese Medicine in the care and treatment of patients suffering from Gynecologic issues and various cancers, dealing with many conditions, including infertility, the side effects of standard cancer treatment, stress, and mental/emotional problems. It was during this time, after witnessing the complications experienced by patients undergoing standard cancer treatment, that I decided to devote myself to finding a means of lessening the negative impacts of Western medicine treatments, while improving the quality of life and outcomes experienced by patients.

The pursuit of this goal led me to migrate to Chicago in 2012, where I hold a Faculty position and work as an Oncology Researcher at Northwestern University. Remaining true to my quest, I entered and completed programs at both the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, enabling me to apply my knowledge of Chinese Medicine in America. I will continue using this combined medical approach to the benefit of my patients.
